Co-designing the IPCC data visualizations
The IPCC team, the scientists, authors of the latest IPCC Summary for Policymakers (The Physical Science Basis) approved in August 2021, the cognitive scientists from the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research and the design team from InfoDesignLab – 9 experts in total – take us through the challenges and the joys of collaborating on the most important climate reports of the 21st century.
They share their process, their data visualizations, and explain what it's like to create a set of data visualizations that every country in the world weighs in on.

Angela Morelli is the CEO and co-founder of InfoDesignLab. She is a an Information designer, info activist, teacher and speaker.
Angela faciliated, co-created and designed data visualizations in the IPCC's Summary for Policy Makers (PDF), on behalf of Working Group I contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report, which "addresses the most up-to-date physical understanding of the climate system and climate change, bringing together the latest advances in climate science".
